The Little Black Fish [Mahi Siah Kocholoo]

The video starts off with the view of the coastline and delves into the serene and rich marine life that lives in the deepest depths of the ocean. The camera pans to a single, small black fish within a glass fishbowl, and then to Googoosh, who slowly comes down the steps into the marble-floored living room, with traces of water following her steps. She goes to the book shelf lined with a variety of books and she reaches for the book titled “Mahi Seyahe Koochoolo” (The Little Black Fish) by Samad Behrangi. She sits down, skimming the pages of the book; clearly familiar with the story. She begins to sing; the words metaphorically telling the story of The Little Black Fish and talking to it, asking if he would help her find her way to the sea. The living room begins to fill with water, eventually allowing her to swim away…..hoping to find the sea.

Amir Soleimani
Amir Soleimani is an innovator in the Iranian music video scene. His beginnings were not too long ago, when he appeared on television in 1987 and then later in movies. In 1990, he became a First-Director’s Assistant and Planner in the Iranian Film industry, working on Shabe Roobah (Night of The Fox), in 1996 and Ashoobgaran (Anarchists) in 1998. His love for “moving pictures,” capturing images that will last through the generations and his passion for graphics and computer technology, was quickly recognized by the leaders in the Iranian movie industry. Soleimani has had the opportunity to work with well-known Iranian directors such as Mohamad Reza Alami, Homayoon Asadian, and Asghar Hashemi. He has also directed several music videos for some of the greatest artists/performers, such as Faramarz Aslani, Moein, Babak Amini, Shadmehr Aghili, and others. Amir Soleimani moved to Canada, in 1998, and studied digital video editing in International Academy of Design, and was hired by GPI Corporation as a senior editor soon thereafter. Today, he is an independent film and video director, creating music videos for the Iranian and Canadian communities.
Alireza Soroush
Alireza soroush is a Producer – Director – cinematographer & Photographer, who graduated with Certificate of Vocational and Technical Skills in Iran. The course that he has taken and the perseverance to reach the higher level of personal growth have given him the courage to enter the world of media. It’s a challenging yet rewarding experience working with locals and international’s biggest films which had given him credits to work with different celebrities, models, TV companies, producers and more, in the field of Cameraman, Directing, Film-making and Film Editing and through the years, he had the privilege to shoot for different projects like music video clips, TV commercials, movies and live events.
